The Livonia Travel Tarheels 14U competed in the AA State Championships the weekend of June 26-28, in Canton, Michigan and came home as the Michigan AA 14U State Champs!!

   Mike Kinitra pitched a complete game 2-hit shut out against the West Michigan Broncos from Kalamazoo on Friday afternoon.  That game was followed up by two shortened mercy rule games behind the pitching of Kevin D'Arcy Saturday morning and Alex DeYonker Saturday afternoon.  They earned a bye Sunday morning due to their #1 seed going into the playoff rounds.  They again faced the West Michigan Broncos and won that game 12-8, followed by the championship game Sunday afternoon against the Michigan Mustangs from Ann Arbor.  The team will play in the Sylvania Maverick's tournament this weekend in Sylvania, Ohio.  They are then scheduled to play in the 14U World Series at Liberty Park in Sterling Heights, Michigan the week of July 19-26.  Many more tournament pictures available  in the photo gallery.
